I’ve been incredibly stressed out with planning the beginning of a new academic year, in the midst of the unrelenting Delta variant, hurricanes, ending wars, and all the above. I decided to check in with my Twitter network to see how they’re managing stress and creating joy. Here’s what I learned:

Connect with your pets or get one

Go to bed early!

Join cross-fit or have a regular exercise routine

Cook ( old and new dishes)

Turn off social media! Take a break.

Start a garden

Dance like nobody or everybody is watching!

Try yoga or Zumba

Odentify trusted sources of information!!!! Fight disinformation

Go outdoors. Take a hike, long walks.

Share joys with family and make it a ritual.

Cuddle!

Play video games

Give yourself, and others, grace.

audio and traditional books.

List what you’re grateful for!

Enjoy your favorite streaming service! Find a new show and share it with friends and family. We’ve been enjoying “ The Good Fight” and Drag Race All-Stars.

Get angry — and use that anger for good.

Naps!

Peleton

Study a new language. My good friend has been learning French.

Get a bird feeder

Start a podcast or listen to one ( Shoutout to my friends at Spotify).

Take a new class.

Find old cassette tapes and that old walkman and rock out!

Buy Sunflowers

Laugh!

Make a quilt.

Baths ( with cool bath bombs).

Create!

And an important reminder to get vaccinated, social distance, and fight disinformation.

Big thanks to my Twitter community! Can’t wait to try some of these ideas out. Let’s find joy together!
