Jeffrey and I were slow with submitting this to the NY Times Wedding announcements page last year, but with a pandemic and all why not publish it now?

Dr. Desmond Upton Patton and Jeffrey James Keyes were married June 9th, 2019 at Porta in Asbury Park, New Jersey

Dr. Patton (left), 38, is the Associate Dean for Innovation and Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Social Work, Sociology and Data Science at Columbia University where he is the founding director of the SAFElab, co-director of the Justice, Equity and Technology lab and Faculty Co-Director of the Emerging Technology, Media and Society Minor. Dr. Patton is a 2019 Presidential Leadership Scholar, a Fellow at the Carr Center for Human Rights at Harvard Kennedy School and Faculty Associate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University. He graduated from the Lloyd International Honors Program at UNCG and has a MSW from the University of Michigan and a PhD from the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tyrone James. His father is a Systems Analyst at Baker and Taylor in Charlotte, NC. His mother, who is retired, is a former administrator for Caromont Medical Group in Gastonia, NC.
